Mr. Chowdhury  is an extremely prudent Barrister with a great deal of knowledge, wisdom and expertise. Having been called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1995, by the Hon’ble Society of Lincoln’s Inn, London, Mr. Chowdhury qualified as an Advocate of Bangladesh Bar Council and eventually secured his enrolment as an Advocate of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh in 1996. Since 1996 till 2000, he had the opportunity of working in Dr. M Zahir and Associates, a leading commercial set and was in a close association with Dr. M Zahir, an personally. Mr. Chowdhury acted as an Associate Partner of another set, The Legal Minds since 2001 till 2004.

Mr. Chowdhury established his own chambers in 2004 under the name of Khaled H Chowdhury & Associates and also acted as a Senior Local Counsel of Temple Court Chambers, London, Dhaka Annexe. Recently, he has come up to be one of the founders of Dr. Khaled H. Chowdhury & Associates, Dispute Management Specialists (DMS) with a view to expanding the horizon. He is also serving as a Vice-President of the very prestigious Barristers Association of Bangladesh (BAB) since 2016.

Mr. Chowdhury has a great deal of experience in handling all Civil, Commercial, Admiralty, Company  and Criminal matters, Arbitration, Mediation and Consumer Disputes. He is also gaining specialisation in Construction Law. Since 1996, Mr. Chowdhury dealt with matters of a number of reputed clients which includes GTCL, GMG, Imperial Tobacco, NSC, Dynamic Textiles, SABINCO, The Daily Star etc. Amongst the clients he had dealt with personally, Tamishna Group of Industries, ETAFIL, Khalid & Partners, KOZMO etc. are worth finding a mention.

Mr. Chowdhury has been conferred an Honourary Doctor of Laws Dr. H.C. (LLD),  from the University of West of England, UK for his contribution in the legal education in Bangladesh in 2019. Mr. Chowdhury is also a CEDR (Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution) accredited Mediator since July 2014, a Panel Member of BIAC (Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre) as an accredited Mediator since 2014, Empanelled Arbitrator and Mediator of AIAC (Asian International Arbitration Centre) since December 2016. He is one of the few distinguished Fellows of CIArb (The Chartered Institute of Arbitrators) in Bangladesh since March 2017 and also Completed the Certificate Programme in Sports Arbitration at AIAC in September 2016. He has also completed the training programme to be an Adjudicator in the field of Construction Law in Malaysia. Mr. Chowdhury is also an Accredited Mediator of ADR-ODR Int’l. UK.

Moreover Mr. Chowdhury is a specialist in International Sports Law and amongst others dealt with matters in the Anti-Corruption Tribunal adjudicating the affairs of allegation corruption in cricket. He represented the former National Cricket Team Captain Mohammad Ashraful and English Cricketer Darren Stephens in the BPL match-fixing dispute.

Mr. Chowdhury has established one of the biggest global legal networks in Bangladesh which has benefited clients in variable ways. He works closely with Centre for European Centre for Legal Cooperation (CECJ), a leading legal networking Institute based in Strasbourg, France. Mr. Chowdhury attended International Lawyers’ Networking Congress in Moscow, Saint Petersburg, New York in the recent years and also visited The European Commission and the Court of Human Rights. Mr. Chowdhury also attended sessions on ADR in London, Kuala Lumpur, Delhi and Doha. Mr. Chowdhury is serving as a Vice-President, Bangladesh of International Society of Admiralty and Arbitration Lawyers London (ISAAL).

As an added benefit with respect to Mr. Chowdhury’s association with the legal field in Bangladesh, he has unparalleled excellence in the academic arena with a vast teaching experience in law. Mr. Chowdhury is acting as the Head of Laws and the owner of London College of Legal Studies (South), a premiere English Law institute with collaboration with 25 UK Law Schools. He has taught in IBA, Dhaka University as a guest faculty for 13 years, in Victoria University Melbourne Dhaka Centre for 8 years and also in Royal Road University Canada’s Dhaka Study Centre. He was an external examiner of University of Dhaka for four years. Apart from his other teaching commitments, he works as a guest faculty member in different Private Universities including East West University and University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh. He leads the ADR sessions at the Law Clinic of Dhaka University and also conducted sessions on ADR, Procurement Laws at BIAC. Mr. Chowdhury also has a large number of scholarly publications in Law.
